In mid 1990’s the Church felt the need to assist members in need. As an initiative to be a Caring Church, 9 poor families from the congregation were selected for this program. The worshipers were asked to contribute towards this worthy cause. A box was kept at the entrance of the church towards this project and people contributed necessary dry rations. The church was able to buy the rest of the rations that were needed. A pack consisting of these dry rations were distributed monthly to these families.
At present the church bears the cost and provides monthly dry ration parcels to 13 families. The W.S. with the help of the others visits these homes and see the wellbeing of these families. Urgent medical needs are looked into and grants, if required are given by the church. At the end of each year, a Christmas programme is organized for all the care recipients’ family along with the inmates of the Elders home.
On 16th December 2023, our church welfare organized a special Christmas program at the elder’s home, spreading festive cheer with Christmas carols and engaging games. The event was a heartwarming occasion, filled with joy and laughter as we celebrated the season together. It was a memorable time of connection and festive spirit, bringing smiles and happiness to the residents.
